The Reebok Golden Boot - Shane Smeltz's for the second year running.

SHANE Smeltz’s goalscoring feats were rewarded at the Hyundai A-League 2009/10 Awards ceremony held in Sydney on Monday night, with the prolific striker taking out the Reebok Golden Boot award for the second year running.

Smeltz fired an amazing 19 goals in the regular season, 7 more than his closest rivals for the honour. His stellar season in front of goal was punctuated with two hat-tricks (one of which was a four-goal haul), two doubles and a run between rounds 17 and 21 of 8 goals in just 5 games.

The 28-year-old marksman also came second in the polls for the Johnny Warren Medal, with Melbourne Victory’s Carlos Hernandez taking home the prestigious award.
