2009 was a year to forget for the likeable defender after a collection of injuries ruled him out for almost the entire season. A foundation player with Melbourne Victory, his ability to play anywhere along the backline made him a crucial member of Victory’s Premiership winning squad. After a brief spell overseas with Walsall and a short-term contract with the Newcastle Jets in the 2008/09 season, the former Qantas Young Socceroo put pen to paper on a deal with United in 2009 and will be hoping to see more first team action this coming season as he returns to full fitness.
