After overcoming an injury-plagued and frustrating beginning to his Gold Coast United career, the 27-year-old gloveman soon proved his value to the team with a string of impressive shot-stopping performances.
Seven clean sheets in eighteen matches highlighted Vanstrattan’s capabilities, as did the way in which he dominated his penalty area and marshalled the United rearguard.
Prior to penning a two-year deal with Gold Coast United, the Gosford-born shot-stopper spent the last seven years in Italy with Verona and one of the powerhouses of world football, Turin-based club Juventus.
A former Australian Under 17 and Under 20 international, Vanstrattan kept goal for the Australian Under 17 team that made it to the 1999 Under 17 World Cup Final, only to lose to Brazil on a penalty shoot-out.
2009/10 season: 18 appearances.
